Merchandising

The ship gave away hideous green beanies (inscribed with 'The Arctic Awakening') to entice us up on deck to wave at a sister ship that was passing.

I found the phrase "The Arctic Awakening" to be more than slightly ominous, if not decidedly menacing, given the pace of change going on in the Arctic and its implications for the rest of us. This is one giant we don't want to wake up!

Lol, they seem to do something different every time. We got tablecloths to wave. :)

I wish I had the money to do the trip again, maybe in autumn. The polar night may be cool, too, but that won't be so good for photographing. ;)
