The Ring of Brodgar

The fabulous Ring of Brodgar is a large stone circle which is part of a whole complex of neolithic sites. Archeologists have just recently uncovered a huge (20m x 11m) structure that's being called a neolithic Cathedral and which is still being excavated (a return visit will be required!).

These photos don't show you just how windy and cold it is. Aurora's expression shows something of the endurance required to be out in the wind. Each time we went behind a stone she'd laugh with relief. It was VERY windy.
